Datacube Pioneer Called on UNGGIM Leadership Board

The United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UNGGIM) addresses global challenges related to geoinformation. Now datacube pioneer Dr. Peter Baumann has been called on UNGGIM's Private Sector Network (PSN) Board.

"I am honoured to have the opportunity of making my humble contribution to this prestigious committee", says Peter Baumann. UNGGIM represents an intergovernmental instrument for making joint decisions and setting directions with regard to the production, availability and use of geospatial information within national, regional and global policy frameworks. Led by United Nations Member States, UNGGIM aims to address global challenges regarding the use of geospatial information, including in the development agendas, and to serve as a body for global policy making in the field of geospatial information management.

Its Private Sector Network (PSN) as a mission to globally foster stronger public-private partnerships for harnessing new data sources and technologies. To this end, the PSN Board has a geographic balance over all continents, with Baumann contributing to European presence.
